CompSust-2016: 4th International Conference on Computational Sustainability

The CompSust-2016 conference focuses on computational methods for balancing environmental, economic, and societal needs for a sustainable future. The main goal of CompSust-2016 is to promote networking, collaborations, and discussion among computational sustainability researchers from academia, NGOs, and government institutions. The conference brings together academics and practitioners. Through talks, panels and discussions, poster sessions, and invited talks, the conference program will investigate the major problem domains that impact global sustainability, those technologies and processes that offer the greatest opportunities to increase sustainability in these domains, and the fundamental computational methods that support these technologies and processes.

CompSust'12 will also introduce a new Master Class component, providing high level tutorials in mainstream computational sustainability research directions.

The Twenty-Fifth Annual Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems, which is the premier scientific meeting on Neural Computation, will feature a Machine Learning for Sustainability Workshop. Chaired by ICS Deputy Director Thomas Dietterich and J. Zico Kolter and Matthew Brown, the workshop will bring together researchers from both the machine learning and sustainability application fields to build upon recent work in applying machine learning to problems of sustainaibility, spanning applications in energy, environmental management, and climate modeling.

CROCS-09: 1st International Workshop on Constraint Reasoning and Optimization for Computational Sustainability

The goal of this half-day workshop, to be held in conjunction with th CP-09 conference, is to bring together interested researchers in order to facilitate the exchange of ideas, presentation of recent or preliminary results, and discussion of promising directions for the use of computational methods to tackle a variety of challenging sustainability problems. While the main focus of this workshop will be on computational methods related to constraint programming (CP) and constraint optimization, the workshop is also open to other computational areas and techniques relevant to sustainability problems.
